Beyond the Gallery in the property’s carriage house is John Hobe’s restoration and cabinetmaking studio. There, John presides over his trained craftsman producing fine 18 th century reproductions and reviving antique furnishings to their former glory.

John has over 30 years of cabinetmaking and restoration experience and a long list of satisfied customers around the Philadelphia and Chestnut Hill area.

His restoration and refinishing philosophies focus on producing accurate results while preserving as much of the piece’s integrity as possible. This means working with original finishes and keeping wood and veneer replacements to an absolute minimum.

In addition to furniture, you will almost always find Antique billiard tables making their way through the restoration studio and into the gallery.
